Project's Summary:
The PROFARMED project aims to advance Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) academic education by strengthening sustainable livestock management practices that improve the agricultural sector socially, economically, and environmentally.
To achieve this, the project develops a comprehensive Practical Educational Plan focused on enhancing the capacities of academics in livestock agriculture. Its main activities include the creation of a PLF Blueprint with state-of-the-art and best practice reports as well as a roundtable, the design and pilot testing of a Practical Education Program Plan structured around economic, social, and environmental thematic pillars, and the development of an e-learning platform with the PROFARM-ME feature. Dissemination activities further ensure the wide reach and impact of results.
The project is expected to deliver an advanced PLF curriculum, a comprehensive online learning platform, increased adoption of sustainable practices, a networked community of practitioners, and documented best practices for broader application across the sector.
