Agriculture and Growth Resources for Inspiring Future Youth (AGRIFY) is an Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers (KA153-YOU) project designed to strengthen the role of young people in the agri-food sector by equipping youth workers with the knowledge, skills and methodologies needed to support the next generation of agricultural leaders. The project responds to the challenges facing young people in agriculture, including limited access to knowledge and resources, declining employment in the sector, insufficient entrepreneurial opportunities and the need for greater adoption of innovative and sustainable technologies.

Implemented by seven organisations from Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Czechia, Italy, Romania and Bulgaria, AGRIFY focuses on strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange among youth workers across Europe. The project targets youth workers, particularly those supporting young people interested in agriculture and rural development, and seeks to improve their capacity to provide relevant guidance, mentoring and non-formal learning opportunities.

The project consists of two interconnected professional development activities: an AGRIFY Seminar in Veroia, Greece, and an AGRIFY Training Course in Bulgaria. The Seminar focuses on establishing a common understanding of the agri-food system, the challenges and opportunities within agriculture, the role of youth workers, innovative agricultural technologies, entrepreneurship, sustainable practices, international perspectives and cooperation networks. The Training Course builds on this foundation, focusing more deeply on youth engagement in agriculture, youth-led initiatives, entrepreneurial planning, sustainable agricultural practices and practical learning through exercises and field visits.

Through non-formal education methods, including case studies, group work, discussions, reflection, interactive activities, practical exercises and field visits, AGRIFY aims to create a learning environment where participants can exchange experiences and develop practical competences. The project places particular emphasis on entrepreneurship, digital and technological skills, innovation, sustainability and youth participation in the agricultural sector.

The expected impact of AGRIFY extends beyond the participating youth workers. By strengthening their professional competences, participants will be better prepared to mentor and empower young people, promote entrepreneurial thinking, encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and support sustainable approaches to agriculture. At organisational level, the project is expected to contribute to improved youth work practices, stronger international cooperation and the exchange of good practices among participating organisations.

Ultimately, AGRIFY seeks to contribute to a more innovative, sustainable and youth-driven agri-food sector, creating stronger links between youth work, entrepreneurship and agriculture while encouraging young people to see the agricultural sector as a field of opportunity, innovation and meaningful professional development.
